I just read a national report on the hoopla between Rush Limbaugh and Michael J Fox, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease. No doubt this is a terrible disease and compassion should be expressed to anyone who suffers this or any other similarly debilitating illness. Unfortunately the media continually fails to mention the "embryonic" portion of what is otherwise noble science. Adult (non-embryonic) stem cell programs will find few to none wanting to thwart their success.

"Harvesting" stem cells and discarding the humans that provided them is barbaric. Using vulnerable women as "embryo factories" is maniacal. But who can deny science her sacrifice. She must be appeased lest her priests are forced into the confines of civility.

The media needs to be servants of truth. Can the authors of these articles really claim they fail to see the not-so-subtle differences between lethal and non-lethal donor programs. Do they think words or the lack of them are irrelevant. Maybe a programmer or a factory worker can make such claims, but a journalist? I must say that Reuters gave the issue its due explanation, but all too many use the media as a tool for political manipulation and lexical obfuscation. My question is "what are they trying to hide?"
