I recently ran across a YouTube video by a Brit spewing anti-Catholic and anti-Christian venom (username: patcondell). When I saw the affirming responses to blatant distortions, my Captain Apologetics cape comes out of the closet and I use my best techniques to introduce a different and compelling perspective to those who may have been drawn in to this historically distorting message. I watched the above YouTuber's post about the complicity of Pius XII in the Nazi holocaust. This guy's seems to know nothing that would moderate his hate for anything Christian, especially the Catholic Church, and even Jesus himself. I wouldn't recommend watching him anymore than I would recommend watching a death captured on video - it's that tragic. He's only compelling in his appearance of absolute certainty regarding his position. This combined with his normal demeanor and appearance makes my skin crawl - even though (or because) I know that this kind of certainty is religious certainty, not scientific certainty, and as such, is not based on evidence - but faith. In the process I ran across this excellent synopsis by author Thomas Wood, Jr.,PhD. about Rabbi David G. Dalin's book, The Myth Of Hitler's Pope. In the article he describes the common knowledge of Pius XII's heroism, that was attacked a decade after his death, only to cause Jews to restate their undying appreciation for Pius XII acts of courage. Here's the link to the article: Synopsis on Myth Of Hitler's Pope
